Call for Judges

Apply to Become an IOCC Judge

The STC invites you to apply to serve as a judge in the International Online Communications Competition (IOCC) to be held April 6, 2002, in Houston, Texas.

If you are chosen to judge, you will serve on a team with two other judges. Your team will judge the entries in one or more of the IOCC's categories. The number of entries varies by category. Typically, each judging team reviews five to seven entries on judging day. All judging and determination of awards are completed the day of judging.

Judges for the IOCC may participate on either an on-site or off-site team. On-site teams will convene at a Houston-area hotel on April 5-6, 2002. Off-site teams will discuss the entries via a telephone conference call on those days.

  • On-Site Teams: As an on-site judge, you travel to the on-site judging in Houston. There you and your teammates make the initial and final decision on awards for your entries. A hotel room, paid for by STC, will be reserved for Friday and Saturday, April 5-6, 2002. You will be reimbursed for transportation to Houston.

  • Telephone Conferencing Teams: As a telephone conferencing judge, you and your teammates make the initial and final decision on awards for your entries in a three-way telephone conference call on the day of judging. You mail the entries, completed evaluation forms, and list of awards to the Society office by Thursday, April 16, 2002.
