Competitions Publicity Manager
Description/Responsibilities
The Competitions Publicity Manager is responsible for promoting the Technical Publications, Online Communications, and Technical Art & Illustration competitions for the Boston and Northern New England chapters of the STC.
The Competitions Publicity Manager reports to the General Competitions Committee.
The most important tasks include:
- Submitting our competition dates to STC and local area publications
- Establishing contact with other related professional associations in our area to get our competition dates on their
calendars, and vice-versa
- Promoting the competitions at our chapter meetings (both Boston and Northern New England)
- Writing and submitting promotional items to the Broadside and Nor’Easter, as well as to the chapter web sites
- Submitting promotional items to local area business, technical, and professional publications
- Encouraging local area business, technical, and pofessional publications to attend and report on our competitions
- Reporting regularly to the General Committee
Skills/Experience
- Knack for promotion
- Promotional writing skills
- Resourcefulness
- Willingness to contact people who can help us promote the competitions

Time Commitment
2 to 4 hours per month (March through December).
There is a monthly General Committee meeting, usually by phone, from March to August. (There is at least one face-to-face meeting.) From August through November there is a weekly meeting, usually by phone.
Attend the monthly Boston and Northern New England chapter meetings (You or your delegate)
