Description
The world of technical communications is changing and presenting new challenges for communicators. Modular writing can help communicators meet these challenges. Writers need to be able to develop structured, topic-based content that can be reused for multiple purposes and stored in content management systems. This presentation discusses how to create effective, modular content by
  • categorizing information into six types based on its purpose for the audience
  • applying six research-based principles for structuring content effectively
  • organizing content into two new units of information to create modular content, and
  • understanding the benefits and drawbacks of modular writing.
